Abstract
Ethnobotanical and chemical investigation of ayahuasca among the Sharanahua and Culina tribes of the southwestern Amazon basin. Identified alkaloids in Banisteriopsis caapi (harmine, harmaline, tetrahydroharmine, harmol, 6-methoxytryptamine) and Psychotria viridis (DMT, monomethyltryptamine) using GC-MS. Documented traditional preparation methods and plant admixtures.
