Abstract

Investigated acute antidepressant effects of ayahuasca in juvenile marmosets subjected to social isolation (depression model). Ayahuasca reversed depressive-like behaviors including anhedonia and reduced cortisol levels. First study demonstrating ayahuasca's antidepressant potential in a non-human primate model.
