Comparative study
Abstract

Compared autonomic, neuroendocrine, and immunological effects of ayahuasca vs d-amphetamine in 10 healthy volunteers. Ayahuasca increased growth hormone, prolactin, and cortisol (similar to d-amphetamine) but showed unique immunological effects including decreased CD4 and increased NK cells. First comprehensive neuroendocrine-immunological profile.
