Narrative review
Abstract

Reviews the overlapping psychological mechanisms of therapeutic psychedelic administration and nature contact: decreased rumination, enhanced connectedness and mindfulness, and heightened awe and transcendence. Proposes that nature-based settings can complement psychedelic therapy by consolidating feelings of connectedness and nature relatedness. Maximizing nature relatedness through psychedelic therapy may constitute an independent pathway toward mental health improvements.
