Abstract

First RCT of ayahuasca for social anxiety disorder. 17 volunteers with SAD received ayahuasca or placebo before a simulated public speaking test. Ayahuasca improved self-perception of speech performance without impairing cognitive function. Supports further investigation of ayahuasca for anxiety disorders.
