Clinical trial
Abstract

Clinical trial assessing ayahuasca's acute effects on anxiety, panic, and hopelessness in 9 experienced Santo Daime members. Found significant reductions in panic-like and hopelessness measures without changes in state/trait anxiety. Suggests ayahuasca reduces existential fear rather than general anxiety.
