Abstract

Systematic review of psychedelics and neuroplasticity covering 16 preclinical and 4 human studies. DMT and ayahuasca stimulate neurogenesis, increase BDNF, and promote dendritic growth. Human studies show BDNF modulation after ayahuasca in depression patients. Neuroplasticity emerges as a key mechanism underlying therapeutic effects.
