Abstract

Phenomenological investigation of intersubjective and intercultural relational processes in ayahuasca ceremonies involving Palestinians and Israelis. Based on 31 in-depth interviews using grounded theory analysis. Identified three relational themes: (1) unity-based connection transcending national and religious identities; (2) recognition and difference-based connection through expression of the other culture; (3) conflict-related revelations involving personal or historical trauma. Explores psychedelics' potential contribution to peacebuilding while noting risks of suppressing marginal voices through idealized universalism.
