Academic book
Abstract

Pioneering cognitive-psychological study of the ayahuasca experience. Based on the author's extensive personal experiences and interviews with hundreds of informants — indigenous people, shamans, religious sect members, and travelers. Provides the most comprehensive phenomenological mapping of the ayahuasca state of consciousness, including visions, altered temporality, synesthesia, and noetic feelings. Lays theoretical foundations for studying non-ordinary states of consciousness.
