Abstract

Large cross-sectional study of 1,947 religious ayahuasca users assessing alcohol and tobacco use disorders. Ayahuasca users showed significantly lower prevalence of alcohol and tobacco use disorders compared to the general population. Longer duration and higher frequency of ayahuasca use correlated with lower substance use.
