Preclinical in vivo
Abstract

Rats pretreated with ayahuasca for 3 days before sepsis induction showed prevention of anxiety-like behavior, reduced neuroinflammation, decreased oxidative stress, and increased BDNF in prefrontal cortex and hippocampus. Demonstrates ayahuasca's neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory properties in an acute stress model.
