Prospective observational
Abstract

339 participants (33 veterans, 306 non-veterans) examined for adverse life event reexperiencing under ayahuasca. Women showed high probability of reexperiencing sexual assault, veterans reexperienced combat trauma, and PTSD-diagnosed individuals had higher reexperiencing prevalence. Reexperiencing was associated with cognitive reappraisal and greater reductions in trait neuroticism.
