Brief communication
Abstract

Proposes that a sense of connectedness is key to understanding how psychedelics produce therapeutic effects. Presents preliminary survey data showing increased social connectedness and wellbeing two weeks after a planned psychedelic experience. Suggests a roadmap for future research investigating connectedness as a core mechanism of psychedelic therapy, including its measurement before and after clinical interventions.
